Why we feel rice is not healthy?
It is because of high glycemic index
It is full of carbohydrate and so on.
The main reason is as per our ancestors rice is good for us, but not the regualr rice varieties what are available in the market. The very common varieties of rice we get today are Hybrid varieties of rice. Their seeds are altered to yeild more crop and grow fast thus resulting in a product which doesnt have any good healthy benefits.
According to our ancestors, rice is the main cure for all disesases. They were cultivating 80 kinds of rice in India. All of them have different health benefits. Due to urbanization and gloabal marketisation, our tendency changed from traditional rice to easy and tasty modern from of rice.
Resulting to a misconception at end " Rice is not healthy"
We, at Proud Farmer organics are striving hard to bring back the glory of Desi Rice. We have started cultivating 10 kinds of rice in our paddy fields this year and it will be ready by this summer.
